1 . A plan old aquatic air pump, like I said nothing fancy, these pump are what?s called a diaphragm pump and although reliable, do tend to lose some performance after about six months so its worth keeping your receipt just in case it gives up the ghost, altogether.
2 . My PVC container were very cheap and hold 20 litre ?to the half way mark? of the very best advanced hydroponic nutrients for this PVC pipe hydroponics drip system plans, but any PVC pot will do if its hidden away in your hydroponic grow room, were only you get to see.
3. Now that 22mm PVC piping for putting your air line and that 5mm silicon tubing into ?just keeps things altogether and stops that pipe from floating about to.
4 You should be able to get silicon tubing in varying size from your local aquatic Shop, but anyway what?s needed is 5mm inner diameter if you want to lift your hydro nutrients with only a third or less nutrient filled container ? if you start with half filled then after 7/10 days your plants will use some? if the diameter gets any bigger, you won?t have enough air pressure to lift nutrients up.
5 T piece connectors x2, which I bought from me aquatics shop although your hydroponics shop should also supply them too.
6 With this system its best not to use the usual hydro net pots, but just your bog standard PVC plant pots, ? as I found to my expense? because you want them roots growing out the bottom where the nutrients will be dripping down and not from the sides, as they?ll grow for about an inch then die off.
7 Pretty much explains its-self, some airline to connect your hydroponic air pump to your airlift pump tubing.
8 Black drip line, This stuff you?ll need as you cant make hole though normal silicon tubing, sold in hydroponics shops and garden centers.
? Step by step guide to PVC pipe hydroponics drip system plans
Now you?ve got all your bit and pieces from the list! And the first step will be to measure the inside height of your now hydroponic bucket / container and cut your length of 5mm diameter silicon tubing. Measure 3cm/30mm from one end and cut 3cm off and place one T piece to your now two piece of tubing, so you now have one three cm tubing attached to a T piece with the other piece of tubing attached to the opposite side of that T piece.
Now you have all four bit connected together, its time to put your two pipes ? air line and 5mm silicon tubing,? though your 22mm ?or similar? PVC piping and attach the other T piece.
As I say this system will give you very good results and especially if you also use an air stone as well with your hydroponic drip systems that basically work in the same manor as a Aero garden works, only a lot more room and your roots won?t bugger up the water pump, as there isn?t one ?bonus.?
This is a great little system that?s also easily made from part that's easily found, locally.
