Many folk choose to start their seeds off indoors, just to get that extra few weeks or even months head start on the growing season, and like me either just don?t want to be hanging grow light from their ceiling, nor really want to buy a really expensive grow room light stand, so here?s a inexpensive and simple, lightweight design that you?ll be able to take down then no longer needed. And if you feel that you?d like your growing light stands to be that little extra sturdy then you can always supplement the PVC piping and connectors with copper water pipe and connectors instead.
For the purposes of this homemade howto build your own grow light stands, we?ll presume that building a light stand for three, three-foot fluorescent and that you want your grow light stand to be two feet off the floor.
Grow Light Stand Parts list
? 12x T Piece PVC connectors
? 4x Right Angle PVC connector
? 6 meters of 22mm PVC tubing
All theses PVC parts above are normally used for over-flows for bathroom piping.

First off cut eight two inch sections of 22mm tubing, then with four of them place a T piece connector on top of each one.
? 2 Now place the other four two inch pipes on top of the T pieces that you?ve just connected..And also your four remaining T piece connectors place them on top of the two inch pieces of tubing.
So what your left with is a two-inch 22mm tubing, with a T piece, with another two inch 22mm tubing with a T piece on top of that.
? 3 Now cut four two foot sections and place them on top of the T piece that you?ve just fitted in number three above with one right angle on top of each one, then put your last four two inch pieces on the end of your right angles, you now have all four led ready to fit.
Put pop your last four T pieces onto the ends of them 2inch pieces, with the center three foots to connect both legs together.
You should now have the grow light stand, standing on all four legs.
All that?s left is to cut the top 22mm PVC tubing and fit, so cut two three foots and two four foots and attach and decide how many fluorescent grow light fittings you?d like.
? Purchase all your PVC parts, right angle elbows, T pieces and lengths from the same manufacturer, to ensure a good tight fit for your grow light stand.
? Measure twice and cut once and use a hacksaw to cut with.

? If your wanting a larger light stand, you can use copper water piping instead ?the same parts are also available as the PVC parts, or just use a copper water pipe for the part of the frame that you fluorescent grow lights hang off.
? Any parts that you feel don?t fit well together, simply swap with another one, its more than likely that will fix the problem and if not then wrap some vinyl insulation tap round the tubing ends before fitting.

Choose a Tank that?s no higher than your lowest gully, and of course it need to be light proof to prevent algae growth and also large enough for lots of nutrient enriched water.
Because NFT hydroponic systems are so susceptible to pump and other failures, I use spreader mating that?s used in bench top growing to soak up excess water and to help with stopping plants from falling over, as plant roots grow into the felt of the matting, so its ideal for NFT systems as a fail safe, if placed in the bottoms of the NFT channels it will help eliminate any dry spots accruing as the roots grow within the growing channels, as the roots grow, some damming of the water solution may accrue, and at least this felt will help with damming and dry point, also pump failure. 
All rock wool fiber has a high PH value, which if not balanced to your hydroponic nutrients solutions PH value before use, will throw you your hydro fertilizer off wake, after water has been circulating for a while ?above 6.5? so soak in a water solution of 3.5 Ph, over night in a bucket first, then squeeze out the excess water before installing, or alternatively circulate your NFT hydroponics system over night fist. 
If your looking for an indoor vertical hydroponics system and your feeling super flush, then theres always the option of one of theses very cool lookin fellows, there also a very good space saver,my local hydro shop has one on display, and i always feel like a kid hopping for one in my stoking ;( 
At the hart of any homemade or shop bought aeroponic system is the water pump, and unlike NFT hydroponics, use expensive fish water pumps, as these pump do more than just move water from a to b, it?s the pressure that you get from them that your after. 
Of cause you could always buy, just a purpose built container, which are vacuum formed in black plastic, which do look good and at the same time your still saving money, or just paint a storage unit container with black enamel spray paint. 
The white piping that makes up the closed loop on aeroponic systems, is just plane old cold water piping that can be bought at any hardware store, its 22mm and comes in two meter lengths, at abought two quid, but don?t buy the reinforced PVC piping, as it looks just the same, but three times the price as the other.
The very very first temped at Aeroponics, i used mini sprinklers, that spin round and although very affective at spaying all the roots, but after a while soon became jammed, as the aeroponic roots grew very quickly and stopped the mini sprinkler from spraying, and as aero roots are so susceptible to drying out, my plants soon dyed, which is a shame as these sprinklers do look cool, and here?s one mini garden sprinkler that I?ve dug out of me odds and sods hydro box, ?as you may have guessed I throw nothing away.? 
As aeroponic roots only use the air space in your growing chamber, no medium is really needed, all that?s needed is something to hold the trunk of your crop plans in place, this can either be a foam disc, wedged into a hole of your aeroponic container or what I prefer, which is a modified net-pot, with expanded clay, as roots systems tend to grow into foam, and that means making new aeroponic foam collars, every time you plant a fresh crop of plants, where?s expanded clay can be recycled again and again.
